David Lynch and Mel Brooks are honored by the American Film Institute. Both filmmakers will receive an honorary doctorate in visual arts from the AFI Conservatory, the organization said. The organization praises the 66-year-old Lynch and the 85-year-old Brooks for their 'contribution to the art of the moving image'. An award from the AFI is one of the most prestigious in American film.
