The Flemish public broadcaster VRT has suspended two journalists because of their book 'The Emperor of Ostend' about SP.A Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs Johan Vande Lanotte. They accuse him of a conflict of interest. The VRT distances itself from the book and emphasizes that the book is not the responsibility of the news service. "The way in which the document has been conceived is not fully in line with our standards," says Luc Rademakers, editor-in-chief of VRT Nieuws in De Morgen.
