Flemish actor Matthias Schoenaerts found filming the Dutch comedy De President a disaster. "At the end of the first day of shooting I really wanted to destroy that whole set," he said during an interview in Cannes. "It was a chaotic mess. There was no line, the set was a mess. That makes me very sad." Yet Schoenaerts is very fond of Erik de Bruyn. "I think he is one of the better directors. I hope that he can make what he wants most very quickly," says the Flemish. "He should not indulge in these types of commissioned films that do not fit who he is as a director."
