A number of female filmmakers find it ridiculous that the battle for the Palme d'Or this year is between exclusively male directors. The women complained on Saturday in the French newspaper Le Monde. Festival director Thierry Frémaux thinks the fuss the women are making is nonsense. The women wrote the complaint on behalf of the feminist collective La Barbe.
