Snake Dance, the documentary by Manu Riche and Patrick Marnham about the origins of the atomic bomb, won the Buyens-Chagoll Award this weekend at the Visions du Réel festival in Nyon, Switzerland. The prize comes with 5,000 Swiss Francs. Snake Dance was shown in the Regard Neuf selection of the festival. The International Jury noted its "unusual originality on an ethical and aesthetic level", as well as its "unusual approach to the nuclear theme, in the past, present and future". All this without the use of archive material.
