The aim of the new 'Festival of the Terrible Film' is to highlight "compelling films with commercial handicaps". This was said by organizer Emmanuel Germond, a 38-year-old artist. The festival takes place this weekend. By "commercial handicaps" he means "films that are awkward, stupid, amateurish, too long or a little too political." The highlight is the film concert, during which a Danish-Swedish silent film by Benjamin Christensen from 1922 is shown. Upon its release, the film was heavily censored. "It's difficult to find an audience for films that are a bit different and require a certain effort from the audience," Germond said.
