The short films Brothers by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah and The Letter by Kenneth Mercken will represent Flanders this year at the 39th edition of the Student Academy Awards, the Oscars for the Best Student Films. At the end of last year, the makers of both films also received a VAF Wildcard. The winners will be announced on June 9 in Beverly Hills. The Student Academy Awards have been presented since 1972 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the organization behind the Oscars.
