Italian Mediaset has sold its six percent stake in television producer Endemol. This was reported by the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24-Ore. It is unknown to whom and for what amount the shares were sold. Mediaset bought Endemol in 2007 together with other parties. The buyers saddled the company with debts that it could no longer repay last year. A deal was made with the creditors whereby debts were converted into shares. The 33 percent interest that Mediaset had was therefore diluted to approximately 6 percent.
