RTL increased its turnover and profit last year. The media group strengthened itself in the Netherlands and Germany, but withdrew from Greece. Remarkable: advertising revenues in Belgium and the Netherlands were on the rise. RTL Group is number one in the European television market. It hosts 45 television channels and 29 radio stations in nine countries, including Belgium. The group is 90 percent owned by the German media giant Bertelsmann. The remaining 10 percent of the shares are listed on the Brussels stock exchange. Bank Degroof expects Bertelsmann to buy up those shares in the second half of this year.
