On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival, Marilyn Monroe is depicted on the poster for the 2012 edition. The poster was designed by the French agency Bronx. They worked with a photo of the actress taken by Otto L. Bettmann. The agency is responsible for the graphic design of the festival. The press release released by the Cannes Festival reads: "Fifty years after her death, Marilyn Monroe remains one of the world's most important film extras with her eternally contemporary, mysterious and seductive appearance."
