In the margins he also touches on the headscarf issue, points out the tensions between Turks and Moroccans, sneers at Flemish racism and condemns the way in which fundamentalist Islam recruits young people. But essentially this story revolves around a Turkish boy who is supposed to enter an arranged marriage, but falls in love with a Flemish young man.
