One of the biggest favorites for the 84th Academy Awards is Michel Hazanavicius' silent film 'The Artist'. The black-and-white print in "antique" 4.3 format received ten nominations, including in the 'Best Original Score' category, for the soundtrack played by the Brussels Philharmonic and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra. 'The Artist' competes in that category against the soundtracks of 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' (Alberto Iglesias), 'Hugo' (Howard Shore), 'War Horse' and 'The Adventures of Tintin' (both by John Williams) .
