The film 'The Artist' is well on its way to an Oscar: after the Golden Globe for best film, the American producers also awarded the silent black-and-white film with the prize for best film. The last four films to win this award also received the prestigious Academy Award. The film also won the Film Critics' Award and leads the nominations for the British Film Awards (the BAFTAs). 'The Artist' is also expected to receive a raft of Oscar nominations. These will be announced on January 24.
