The cinema adaptation of the play "Groenten uit Balen" attracted 30,000 people to the cinema in the opening weekend. This puts the film in fifth place on the list of most visited films in Belgium. The film will only be shown in Flanders and Brussels. "Vegetables from Balen" was directed by Frank Van Mechelen. The leading roles are played by Evelien Bosmans, Stany Crets, Tiny Bertels and Michel Van Dousselaere, among others.
