The Palm Springs International Film Festival (5-16 January), traditionally the place where films are showcased for the Oscars, has no fewer than five Flemish directors on its bill for the second year in a row. This year these are Bavo Defurne's Noordzee, Texas, Geoffrey Enthoven's Hasta la Vista, Nicolas Provost's The Invader, Michaël R. Roskam's Rundskop and Christophe Van Rompaey's Lena. Another co-production with Flanders, John Shanks Last Winter, is also presented in Palm Springs.
