21-year-old Alwin Ritstier has won the 2011 NTR Media Prize with his film 'Phrenos'. Alwin is a first-year student at the Rotterdam Willem de Kooning Academy. NTR's assignment was: Create a Streetwisebit. A 1-minute video that is about the world around you and that makes you think. In Ritstier's film, a schizophrenic talks about how much more 'normal' he seems since everyone walks around with 'earphones' for their mobile phones. Suddenly his mumbling is no longer noticeable. The jury unanimously chose his film. 'Funny, beautifully filmed and moving,' said the jury.
