In Belgian cinemas, visitors are presented with scents that match what is shown on the screen. Anyone who watches Spy kids 4: All the time in the world will receive a scent card with eight numbered scratch circles. When a number appears on the cinema screen, you have to scratch off the corresponding number on that card and the smell of candy or food, for example, is released. Starway, the distributor that releases Spy Kids 4 in Belgium, says that the idea for scent films has been around for some time, but this is the first time that such a film has been released in regular cinemas.
