More than three months after the last day of shooting, it is unclear when and even if the American remake of Loft will make it to theaters. Erik Van Looy and co are still looking for a distribution company that wants to bring the film to American screens. However, distribution did not seem to be a problem when the American Loft project was started. One of the financiers promised to provide a so-called print & advertising fund. A pile of cash that would have been enough to have 1,500 copies of the film made and to buy the necessary media attention for the American release of the film. But the financier in question ultimately failed to raise the necessary funds. "The goal remains a national theatrical release." says co-producer Hilde De Laere.
