"Le Gamin au Vélo" by the Dardenne brothers has been shortlisted for the European Film Awards. "Rundskop" by Truiense director Michael Roskam, which was also included in the extensive longlist, did not make the final selection. The youngest film by the renowned brotherhood from Liège was selected in the categories Best Film, Director, Actress (Cécile de France) and Screenplay. Despite its four nominations, the favorite role for the "European Oscars", which will be awarded in Berlin on December 3, is reserved for "Melancholia" by the Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier: the film with Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg actually collected
eight nominations.
