After a warm welcome at the Rome International Film Festival, Bavo Defurne's feature debut North Sea, Texas has now also won the Festival's Marc'Aurelio Alice nella Città 13+ Award. The prize, awarded by a 35-member youth jury, is the most important award in the Alice in the City competition. Both Bavo Defurne and producer Yves Verbraeken were present in Rome to receive the prize, which also includes 10,000 euros. The prize is not the only good news from Rome. This week it was announced that the film will be picked up for release in Italian theaters and on DVD by Atlantide Entertainment. It was also confirmed that London-based Pecadillo Pictures was responsible for distribution in Great Britain. According to Wavelength Pictures, the film's international seller, there is also interest from other countries.
