At the LA Femme International Film Festival (13 to 16 October 2011), Smoorverliefd (Eng. title Madly in Love) by Hilde Van Mieghem received the 'Best Foreign Film award'. The LA Femme International Film Festival was founded six years ago to provide a platform for female filmmakers who would like to have the same opportunities to develop their film career in the commercial film circuit. Smoorverliefd/Madly in Love is doing particularly well in the United States because last week it was announced that the film was awarded Best Feature Film at the Broad Humor Film Festival, which also takes place in California. The Broad Humor Film Festival focuses on comedies with a feminine touch.
