This year's Ghent Film Festival offers visitors the opportunity to become extensively acquainted with Bergman's cinema. Not only in the cinema, but also in an excellent exhibition that starts with Fanny and Alexander. 'The best introduction to Ingmar Bergman', say cinephiles. The film is known as 'one of the more optimistic' works by the famous Swedish director. Many cinemagoers may not even want to discover how gloomy the rest of his oeuvre is. A shame, because Bergman may not be the most accessible filmmaker, but he is certainly one of the most influential.
