The Competition Council on Wednesday gave the green light to the takeover of SBS Belgium, the company behind the channels VT4 and VIJFtv, by media group De Vijver. The competition authority does not accept the objections of the auditor who wanted the ties between Woestijnvis, the successful TV production house of De Vijver, and the VRT to be severed after mid-2012, to avoid possible distortion of competition.
