The famous Italian director Ettore Scola, maker of 'Una Giornata Particolare' and 'Brutti, sporchi e cattivi', has given up filmmaking. The 80-year-old Scola gives some additional reasons besides his older age. The director no longer feels the "same joy and lightness" towards the current film world with its rigid production and distribution laws and its "lack of (artistic) freedom".
