Ex-Monty Python and film director Terry Gilliam will direct next year's season opener, La Damnation de Faust, at the Vlaamse Opera. This new production - a co-production with English National Opera - will premiere in London on May 6 as Gilliam's operatic debut. The production will premiere in Antwerp in September 2012.
