Together with the Flemish Audiovisual Fund, Canvas wanted to make a series of six author's documentaries about contemporary taboos. The well-known Flemish fiction director Marc Didden applied and was selected. Fat Friends is about the 'historical, social and cultural aspects of being fat'.
