This year, the Palm Springs International Film Festival presents a five-film mini focus on Flanders. According to the organizers, Flanders is today a 'cinematic hot spot' and they want to draw attention to this among both the general public and film professionals through the 'Flanders Five' program. Last week it was announced that Hilde van Mieghem's Smoorverliefd was invited to Palm Springs. The four other titles are Turquaze by Kadir Balci, Pulsar by Alex Stockman, Dossier K. Van Jan Verheyen and Adem by Hans Van Nuffel. The latter will also be shown in the New Voices/New Visions competition. The Palm Springs International Film Festival runs from 6 p.m. January 17th.
