Starting in 2029, the Oscars will be streamed exclusively on YouTube, under an agreement between the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and YouTube. This deal begins with the 101st ceremony and runs until 2033. Until then, the Oscars will remain on ABC. The YouTube broadcasts are free worldwide and include red carpet and backstage content. Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Lynette Howell Taylor emphasize the opportunities for a global celebration of cinema. YouTube, with a nine-extra bid, outbid other networks like Disney/ABC and NBCUniversal.
