Visual artist and filmmaker Kevin Osepa has won the Prix de Rome Visual Arts 2025. He received the award, an incentive prize for talented artists, and a sum of €60,000 from outgoing State Secretary Koen Becking at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. His artwork "Lusgarda," which explores themes of mourning and tradition, was praised by the jury as both stunning and technically accomplished. The Prix de Rome, funded by the Mondriaan Fund, has been awarded biennially since 2012.
