Johan Grimonprez's film "Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat," which explores the postcolonial struggle in Congo, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and won the Special Jury Award for Cinematic Innovation. After screenings at various international festivals, including the BFI London Film Festival and IDFA, and nominations for European Film Awards and more, the film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary earlier this year. The film uses archival footage and historical music and is told from the perspective of Andrée Blouin.
