The film "Pillion," a BDSM rom-com directed by Harry Lighton, won the top honor at the British Independent Film Awards. Alexander Skarsgard and Harry Melling star in the film, which also won awards for Best Debut Screenwriter, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup and Hair Design. Akinola Davies Jr.'s "My Father's Shadow" won Best Director. The ceremony took place at the Roundhouse in London.
