The feature film "Tegendraads," directed by Ben Sombogaart, is set in the early 1960s and follows the events surrounding the arrival of Italian guest workers in Oldenzaal. The film highlights the cultural tensions and forbidden love affairs that arise, culminating in the "Spaghetti Riots." Main characters Johanna (Emma Josten) and Francesco (Mehdi Meskar) find each other despite the unrest. "Tegendraads" airs on Friday, December 19th at 9:30 PM on NPO 1 by MAX.
