Flikken Rotterdam, a spin-off of the VRT series Flikken, will end its run at the end of 2026 after nine seasons. AVROTROS has decided to discontinue the series, which has been running since 2016, due to budget cuts at the public broadcaster. Despite being the highest-rated NPO program this quarter, the budget cuts are forcing difficult decisions to be made. Preparations for the final season have already begun. The series, starring actors such as Mark van Eeuwen and Huub Stapel, was also widely rewatched online.
