German composer Volker Bertelmann, known as Hauschka, has once again been named Film Composer of the Year at the 25th World Soundtrack Awards. He received this recognition for his work on the films Conclave and The Amateur. He previously won the same award for his scores for All Quiet on the Western Front, War Sailor, and Memory of Water, for which he also received an Academy Award and a BAFTA. Bertelmann is known for his use of prepared piano and dramatic finesse.
