The 38th European Film Awards, which will take place in Berlin on January 17, 2026, have shortlisted 67 feature films for potential nominations in the fiction, documentary, and animation categories. Of these films, 44 are fiction films, 15 are documentaries, and 8 are animated. Twenty-seven of the films are directed or co-directed by women. The nominees are chosen by the 5,400 members of the European Film Academy, with the exception of a few specific awards. The nominations will be announced on November 18, after the 22nd Seville European Film Festival.
