Iranian director Jafar Panahi's film "It Was Just an Accident," winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, has been selected by France as its Oscar entry in the international feature film category. The film, Panahi's first since his release from Iranian prison, follows ex-convicts who encounter a man who may have been their former executioner. The production was supported by French producer Philippe Martin and co-producers from Luxembourg. Neon, which acquired the film at Cannes, will also campaign in other categories.
