Film Fest Gent and SMAK present three films by James Benning, an influential experimental filmmaker known for his minimalist style. The films, which take the American landscape as their starting point, include "American Dreams (Lost and Found)" from 1984 and two versions of "The United States of America" from 1975 and 2022. These films will be screened free of charge at SMAK from October 8 to 19, 2025, with each work offering a unique perspective on America through different visual and temporal experiences.
