Starting in 2026, all five Nordic film organizations will implement the Nordic Ecological Standard (NES), a sustainability framework for the film and television industries in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. This initiative, supported by 34 organizations, was developed by The Five Nordics and the Nordisk Film & TV Fonds. Inspired by German and Austrian standards, the NES covers six categories, including transport and energy use. Implementation will begin in 2026 with national film organizations and other stakeholders.
