The short historical drama "Barlebas," directed by Malu Janssen, won two awards at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal: Best Film and Best Cinematography in the International Short Film Competition. The film, produced by DOXY FIXY, is set in the Southern Netherlands in 1595 and explores the brutal persecution of women accused of witchcraft. The jury praised the film for its storytelling, visual language, and impressive music. "Barlebas" is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund.
