A poll of 240 U.S. film industry executives found that 55% believe the traditional theatrical model will no longer be viable in 20 years. This pessimism is particularly strong in sales, distribution and production. Post-pandemic, exhibitor revenues have not yet recovered to pre-pandemic levels, with 90% saying so. Moreover, 81% believe a minimum six-week exclusive theatrical window is necessary and 77% see simultaneous streaming releases as harmful to theaters.
