Mubi, a distribution and streaming platform, has responded to criticism over a $100 million investment from Sequoia Capital, which has ties to Israeli defense tech company Kela. The investment led to calls for a boycott of Mubi, given Sequoia’s involvement in Israel’s defense sector during the Gaza war. Mubi defended its choice of Sequoia, saying the company helps it deliver bold films to a global audience. Mubi stressed that the beliefs of individual investors do not reflect their views.
