The 2025 Cannes Film Festival sees the launch of DOGMA 25, a new initiative by Danish filmmakers May el-Toukhy, Milad Alami, Annika Berg, Isabella Eklöf and Jesper Just. Inspired by the DOGMA 95 manifesto, the initiative aims to promote artistic freedom and narrative integrity through a renewed “vow of chastity”. Rules include handwriting of scripts and filming on location with repurposed materials. DOGMA 25 is supported by Zentropa, DR, Nordisk Film Distribution and the Danish Film Institute, with international sales by TrustNordisk.
