Arnold Jan Scheer and Roy Dames have been working on the documentary "Het hart van Amsterdam" (The Heart of Amsterdam) for over forty years, about the Amsterdam Red Light District. The film, which highlights the transformation of the neighborhood and the rise of organized crime, is still not finished. Started in the 80s as a project to follow the local underworld, it turned into an extensive chronicle with hundreds of hours of footage. Now the makers are trying to finish the film with the help of private investors and a crowdfunding campaign, hoping to release it in theaters by the end of this year.
