Dutch filmmaker Sven Bresser discusses his new film 'Reedland', which has its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. The film, produced by Marleen Slot and co-produced by Dries Phlypo and VPRO, is set in Weerribben-Wieden and follows farmer Johan, played by non-professional actor Gerrit Knobbe, who finds the body of a girl in his fields. This brings moral darkness to his life. Bresser, inspired by his childhood in Waterland and a local murder case, deliberately chose non-professional actors to ensure authenticity.
