Friesland now has its own film fund, just like Limburg: the Frysk Filmfûns. This fund, managed by the Stichting Frysk Filmfûns, receives €341,642 annually from the province until 2028. The aim is to stimulate the Frisian film industry and the broader cultural sector. There will be regulations for both new and established filmmakers. Provincial Executive Eke Folkerts emphasises that the fund not only supports the production of Frisian-language films, but also contributes to employment and international visibility of the Frisian language and culture.
