Women dominated Italy's David di Donatello Awards. Maura Delpero's film "Vermiglio" won multiple awards, including best film and best director, a first for a woman in 70 years. Valeria Golino's "The Art of Joy" and Margherita Vicario's "Gloria!" also took home honors. "The Art of Joy" took home awards for best adapted screenplay and best actress (Tecla Insolia), among others. "Gloria!" won best debut director and best song. The ceremony took place at Rome's Cinecittà Studios.
