Isabel Arrate Fernandez has been appointed the new artistic director of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). She succeeds Orwa Nyrabia and has over twenty years of experience within IDFA, including as director of the IDFA Bertha Fund. Under her leadership, this fund grew into an important platform for documentary makers worldwide. Marry de Gaay Fortman, chair of the Supervisory Board, praises her vision and ideas. Fernandez looks forward to continuing the artistic and social mission of IDFA.
