Netflix has appealed to the French Council of State against French regulations regarding the availability of films on streaming services. Current rules require Netflix to wait 15 months before new films are available on its platform. Despite a significant investment of €50 million per year in French films, the waiting period remains unchanged. Netflix, which has invested more than €1.7 billion in the French creative sector, is calling for this waiting period to be reduced to match its level of investment. Disney+, meanwhile, has obtained a more favourable term of nine months, despite a lower overall investment in French content.
