Major interventions are needed for fair pay in the Dutch film and audiovisual sector, according to the report by PPMC Economic Advice, carried out for Kunsten '92. The costs for Fair Pay amount to an average of 42% of the total remuneration and 23% of the production costs. Directors, executive production and the art department in particular lag behind in payment. From 2025, Fair Pay will be the norm for subsidy applicants. The Netherlands Film Fund has already taken steps by increasing contributions and earmarking them for Fair Pay.
