A majority of the House of Representatives, including GroenLinks-PvdA, VVD, D66, NSC, VOLT and SP, has spoken out against Minister Bruins' plan to close down the NTR broadcaster. The parties propose that the NTR merge with the NOS to ensure the continuation of programmes such as the Sinterklaasjournaal and the Klokhuis. The NTR, known for its educational and cultural programmes, plays an important role as a task broadcaster.
